Baukultur im „Stereofokus“
(Architecture in Stereo, booked-up)

Baukultur im Stereofokus asks whether architecture classes can in some cases be a more exciting version of history classes.

For a whole day, students from the Graz International Bilingual School and the Grazer Schulschwestern explore their school buildings, located opposite each other. Built in the style of the “Graz School,” a brutalist concrete building and an organic experimental building bear witness to a time of cultural upheaval and resistance. Accompanied by artist Andreas Fogarasi, the students use artistic methods to examine surfaces and materials and also learn what these two buildings have to do with traces of World War II, postmodernism, the emergence of avant-garde literature in Graz, and the founding of steirischer herbst.
