The title refers to steirischer herbst ’18, the first edition of the festival under the direction of Ekaterina Degot.  Essays commissioned specifically for the publication, as well as artists’ texts examine the notion and historical context of Volksfronten and populism, illuminating the role of critical thinking and artistic practice. Numerous full color images of artworks created for steirischer herbst '18 accompany the discourse.
