​Das relativ wohltemperierte Klavier, Akt III (The Relatively Well-Tempered Clavier, Act III)

The first two acts of Das relativ wohltemperierte Klavier took place in 2024 at the Hotel Pupik in Schrattenberg. In these acts, a well-tempered clavier—in the form of an old Petrof grand piano—was first subjected to a thermally prepared performance and treatment. Then the instrument was attacked mechanically. It became apparent that a piano, even when dismantled, can never be completely disconcerted or thrown off-key.

However, contrary to what one might initially assume, it was not merely a piano that was transformed in the process. Interventions always leave traces in those who are classically regarded as the performing subjects. As relatively well-tempered beings, they have always been intertwined with the relative nature of the piano. Thus, we find ourselves caught up in Act III, in which this existence-transcending, relatively well-tempered, and winged, quartet-like entity begins to reorganize itself—indeed, to come into its own—as a new, shape-shifting ensemble.
