Leonardo da Vinci’s Profezie—enigmatic miniatures from the Milanese court of the 1480s—read today like visions of our present: “People will walk without moving. They will speak to someone who is not there.” From these texts, Beat Furrer crafts his landmark ENIGMA cycle, which is being performed in its entirety for the first time in Austria.
At the same time, the prophecies are being continued: Students at the Pius Institute in Bruck an der Mur are developing their own visions of the future, which inspire new works by four young composers: Luca Bardelle, Tina Geroldinger, Soyeon Park, and Anna Sowa. Over 250 singers—professionals, young people, and amateurs—come together to bring this music and its mysteries to life. A cross-generational choir festival that fills the entire Helmut List Halle with voices.
