Der Tunnelblick – tunelski vid – Tunnel Vision: Of Helicopters, Memories, Holes, and Plenty of Language(s)

Following the opening of the Koralm Tunnel, artists from Styria, Carinthia, and Slovenia explore the new connection between the two federal states. At the same time, they examine the historical and cultural ties between them.

The sad events at the Peršmanhof on 27 July 2025 and the official reactions to them (or lack thereof) reveal glaring democratic deficits that must be addressed through cultural and peace initiatives. Nationalism and fascism are dangers that, just like the use of nuclear technology, require constant vigilance.

Together with the Grazer Initiative für Frieden und Neutralität (Graz Initiative for Peace and Neutrality, or GIFFUN) and the Nagasaki-Brescia Kaki Tree Project for Europe, the Pavelhaus is planting a kaki tree as a symbol of peace. Furthermore, the design collective The 4th Block is commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster with the International Poster Triennial Nuclear Scar: Past – Present – Future.
