pars pro toto – Reliquien lebender Autor:innen (Relics of Living Writers)

In the project pars pro toto, writers decide themselves which body part or object is henceforth associated with how they are read, worshipped, and remembered. The provision of the object, not least, initiates a process of self-empowerment. For acting from within, from primary literature, also means rejecting an attribution of value justified solely through the other(s), a formation of humans from the outside that implies a loss of control over the self extending into the afterlife.

Each relic is displayed along with a text by the respective writer and an authentica (a certificate of authenticity issued by experts) in manuskripte’s editorial offices. The text serves to, on the one hand, describe the relic and, on the other, develop its significance for the writer’s work.
