Since 2019, the Zentrum für Wurfkeramik has been researching the method of throwing clay. Now, it is opening a temporary branch in Graz. At Rhizom, the center presents its archive, the so-called Wurfkeramiksammelsensorium, in which thrown objects, various instruments, and sound recordings are exhibited.
The branch also provides insight into the method of throwing clay, which constitutes an active and subjective process of selective appropriation in public space. The center aims to further develop Wurfkeramik and establish it as a school subject in the future.
Members of the center are personally available on-site, so visitors can throw ideas, questions, reproaches, and compliments at them. In the herbst education program, they also offer a performative training course for learning the Wurfkeramik method.
