RÜCKwärtsParade (Retrograde Parade)

Performance

There is an increasing feeling that society is regressing to a 1950s view of womxn and the family. Womxn should stay at home, do all the care work if possible, and then be of service to their husbands as tradwives. Homophobia is on the rise again; the right to freely live one’s life is under attack.

Together with FLINTA* of all ages, OMAS GEGEN RECHTS is making these tendencies visible and organizing a retrograde parade through the city center of Graz. Accompanied by increasingly dissonant music, a motley crowd of emancipated, free people is transformed into a gray mass of shaky figures bent on pleasing others. But it won’t stay that way.
