Collective city walk

Forum Stadtpark, HDA – Haus der Architektur, and steirischer herbst are exploring urban space together with experts. This walk offers new insights into the city and its structures from artistic, architectural, and sociopolitical perspectives.

In this second walk of the series Gehen und Verstehen (Walking and Understanding), we focus on squares as points of tension in the city. We ask under what conditions they emerge, whose interests they reflect(ed), and who or what is made visible or suppressed in them. While visiting historic, new, and self-designated squares, we discuss these as expressions of social negotiation processes between planning and appropriation.
