Forum Stadtpark, Haus der Architektur, and steirischer herbst are exploring urban space together with experts. From an artistic, architectural, and sociopolitical perspective, walking provides new perspectives on the city and its structures.

In the first walk of the series Gehen und Verstehen (Walking and Understanding), we set out searching for vacant properties in Graz. There is still hardly any reliable data on this topic—and yet, vacant properties presumably contribute to the global real estate crisis. Which places are vacant? Which ruins have recently been created by the rapid urban development? And what could counterstrategies look like?
