Like steirischer herbst ʼ24, manuskripte 245 is dedicated to the theme Horror Patriae. The issue contrasts the horrors of the fatherland with the courage that can be drawn from a fascinating diversity.

After a discussion of Sarnath Banerjee’s graphic novel, which stages an encounter between the lives of two literary “fathers” of their country, Rabindranath Tagore and Peter Rosegger, three young authors from three different countries will read. Each of them positions herself in her own concise way between mother tongue and fatherland. “Piano poet” Valentina Colonna, who curated a section of Italian poetry for manuskripte 245, reads her poems accompanied by her compositions.
