Clothing communicates and shows membership in groups or subcultures. Professions are also often recognizable by clothing. The cut, color, and texture of fabric influences our behavior and mobility and conveys moods and emotions. Depending on the place and occasion, clothing should fulfill set criteria—even unspoken ones—like providing protection or creating an aesthetic appeal.
Based on this idea, a group of children and young people from Mooskirchen present individual costumes and items of clothing that they have made themselves. These send both clear and subtle messages, use both clear words and abstract shapes, and make loud noises that make the wearers dance. On the surface, the costumes reflect current personal concerns and are interwoven with self-expression and a sense of community.
