Fortysomething

Imagine that city could record the thoughts and memories of the people who live there. So as you walk around the streets and squares of Graz, you could start to hear voices talking about the artwork that was and still is around you, artwork from the forty years of the steirischer herbst. Fortysomething is a project that makes this possible.

To celebrate the forty-year anniversary of steirischer herbst, plan b will create a GPS-triggered audio guide that charts, investigates and reveals the events that have taken place on the streets of the city during the festival. Public art, sculpture, happenings, performances and concerts will all be commemorated in the places they happened through the voices of those who were there.

What do you remember of events, happenings, performances, concerts and public art works that took place outside during the steirscher herbst festival? We are looking for people who are willing to take us to that spot in Graz and talk about what happened there. You may have just been passing and what you witnessed may have been memorable - you might have loved it or you might have loathed it! Let your stories and memories become part of this project.
